Description
A heat and moisture exchanger works as an artificial nose. It helps to heat and moisturize inhaled air. It retains humidity in the airways that would otherwise be lost by breathing through an open tracheostoma. As a result, many users experience fewer problems with coughing and mucus production. This improves voicing, sleeping and the quality of life. The Provox® cassette facilitates manual stoma occlusion with the help of a simple lid/spring-valve mechanism, thereby improving speech as well as hygiene.
- Enables use of a Provox® HME cassette to any tracheostomy tube with a 15mm ISO connector.
- It is designed with side openings which mean that: The HME can be discreetly hidden, there will be no wet stains on the clothing and inhaled air can be drawn from the warming body rather than directly from the surrounding air.
